I've read the pages 55-65 in The Matrix and Philosophy and Garcia and Sanford used words such as "Source" and "Ontological". I bet youe like What the heck is that or what does it mean? Well I read over it a few times like 2 or 3 times and i understood that Ontological Status and Source are used to ditinguish the Metaphysical between the "real" and the "unreal" categories. Source is where everything began. We know that the matrix is a computerized program made by AI(Artificial Intellgent) Machines. More we Know that we see a human and we know that he/she was born from his/her parents. The source is where everything comes from, the beginning of everything. Ontological Status is the way things exist. To understand it more the real word in The Matrix doesnt depend on anything to exist. Its stands alone by itself. The real world doesnt depend on anything. While the world of the matrix the computer generated "real world" does depend on something. It Depends on the machines and the Artificial intelegent machines. Thats how u can distinguish betwenn the "real" and the
"unreal".

  2. Very well put, and simply put. It does take a while to understand this essay, but you explained it well.
